I was making out another check to Totally Ferret last night when I noticed
it was precisely two months since the last one. On checking back over the
last 6 months I found some interesting numbers that others may care to
compare to or comment on.

I have five ferrets, 3 females and 2 males, all about average size. Their
combined weight is exactly 12 lbs. They have consumed 60 lbs of Totally
Ferret over the last six months. (There is some small percentage of
wastage.) Doing a little basic arithmetic with this information I
conclude....

1. A ferret consumes ten times its body weight per year.

2. The females (at approximately 2.00 lbs) are consuming 7/8 oz. per day;
   the males (at approximately 3.00 lbs) are consuming 1.3 oz. per day.

3. In food alone they are costing me around $270.00 a year :(

4. On the basis of what goes in must come out, 120 lbs is quite a large pile
of poop in the corner :)
