i've read all the posts about ferrets hunting, eating mice, meat etc.
etc.. and whether or not this is nature or nurture.

I think it is both. Every ferret is an individual. My old guy Arthur
would'nt eat a piece of meat on a bet.. but he loves cheerios. He is
totally docile, ferret-wise, and unusually mellow..He was raised with a
cat and thinks the cat is a big pillow. My daughter had a garter snake and
he considered the snake a buddy. But yet.. that same docile Arthur goes
for blood when he sees me doing any wiping motion. He also ( and I am
sorry to say ) killed a cocateil last year. The poor bird hit the floor
for one second and Arthur bit into to him and would not let go. So he is
a mix of inclinations, disinclinations and contradictions in the genetics
dept.

And as for the discussion of the un named N.Y.C mayor who outlawed
ferrets, and those that keep the ban going???
