I'd have to agree with you on your point.  It seems to me that it is also
irresponsible to breed shelter ferrets, when in most cases their
genetic/breeding background is not known, and one of our responsibilities is
to breed only those ferrets that are genetically the healthiest, as proven
by their Pedigrees (family tree).
