Check out http://www.pantheon.org/mythica/ - it's the encyclopedia of
mythology, online. It's very nicely done and has tons of great names of
mythological beings, dates, places, etc. So far my favorites include:

- Snallygaster, probably derived from the german for 'quick spirit.' A
big, evil dragon/bird that preyed on the yokels. I'll start calling Noodle
this, even though the Snallygaster 'died' a nasty death.

Gods of mischief:
- Kapua, hawaiian trickster god
- Kompera, japanese god of mischief
- Bogie, spirits of mischief, actually, who hover behind people and give
them the feeling they're being watched. :)

Thieves:
- Iwa, Ono, and Pekoi - a group of polynesian thieves collectively known
  as the Kupua.

..and the list goes on. Great site!
