Matter of interest...

If everyone is so worried about Aleutians that people who are suspected of
having it are being banned from taking their ferrets to shows... why isn't
*everyone* required to bring a recent certificate from their vets saying
that their ferrets have been tested for ADV and found negative? They
require proof of vaccination already, surely looking at another piece of
paper proving that they tested negative wouldn't be that different? What
about coccidia and giardia? Both of these are extremely contagious and
have potentially disastrous effects.

Surely taking a ferret in for a vet check and test prior to a show can
prevent things like this from happening? Then, at least, people who truly
have healthy animals can be assured that they won't be banned from taking
their animals in to the show.
