I just had my Ebay ID and feedback STOLEN by someone (as well as my
credit card number!!!) purporting to be from Ebay; I got a message that
was "from" [log in to unmask], which is an email address I'd seen before
from Ebay, that said my account was being suspended for bidding and
selling privileges because Ebay couldn't verify my credit card info. It
provided me with a link I could click to go to "Ebay's site" to rectify
this. Naively, I clicked on the link and did so, thus providing some
scam artist with all my personal info, phone number, etc., credit card
and Ebay password, and they proceeded to change my user ID, password and
screw me. I have reported to Ebay and my credit card co., and will be
reporting to some sort of authority (Ebay is notoriuos for not caring
about fraud), but please beware.

Also, if you are a seller or buyer and see the user ID "ignor_va_fute",
THAT is the jerk that stole my hard-earned feedback, so beware of them!

If you ever get an email from Ebay asking you to click a link to update
your credit card info especially, immediately forward it to Ebay and
DON'T DO IT! The crooks basically set up a mirror site of Ebay and screw
you out of your feedback, privacy, any auctions you are involved in, and
more. They mask their own ID, email addy and IP address so most folks
don't know. My software engineer hubby too late told me about the risks
of this...

I know a lot of people on the FML use Ebay, so I thought I'd pass this
along. Good luck.

Dooks,

April AC (who now has to go on vacation sans credit card...) See you in
two weeks!

PS This is the email I ACTUALLY got from Ebay that tipped me off to
the problem-I knew I hadn't changed my email address or password when I
"updated" my info:
