Yesterday morning when I got up I noticed that Oscar, my ferret, would back
up to go to the bathroom but could not urinate. I watched him for a couple
of hours and he still had the problem. I called his vet and made an
appointment for that afternoon. At 11:30am Oscar was able to pee but only
a little bit and made a noise like he was in pain.

I brought Oscar in to the vet, they tested his urine and said all was fine.
The vet suggested an x-ray which I agreed and it showed that everything was
fine. The vet said while she had him in the back she exposed his penis and
it was bruised leading her to think maybe he passed a kidney stone. Does
this sound right? Today he is more active than yesterday but not drinking
water like he should. Also I have noticed that he is not peeing each time
he poops. Any suggestions? What do I look for? His vet seems to have
knowledge about ferrets.

Oscar is a year old, he has lived with me since October. He weighs three
pounds. He has been eating some cheap dog food I had left out for the dogs.
I have since put the food up.

Oscar
