I just pulled out the column which mentions the macaroons. It's called
"The People's Pharmacy", and is written by Joe Graedon and Teresa Graedon,
Ph.D. They have a Web site at www.peoplespharmacy.com, and their address
is P.O. Box 52027 in Durham, NC 27717-2027. The brief mention in today's
column said:

Q: My husband joined the ranks of those helped by coconut macaroon cookies
for chronic diarrhea. He has had Crohn's disease for 25 years, and his
large intestine was removed 10 years ago. He is amazed at the improvement
these cookies have brought.

A: Coconut macaroons have helped many people with diarrhea, but they don't
work for everyone.
