As some of you may remember, I'm the lady who lost 6 of my pets (5 ferts,
1 cat) between Oct 4th of last year and July 1st of this year. That left
me with 2 of my girls when I moved July 12th. At the old address there
were toxic gases backing up into the apt. from the hot water heater that
I did not know about for some time. Since we've moved, something rather
odd is happening with Sweetpea. I was told almost 2 years ago that she
had adrenal (hair loss, swollen vulva) My former vets did no tests on her
but went completely by the symptoms presenting. The girls and I moved
here July 12th and both seem more bright and alert but the odd thing is
that Sweetpea is growing her fur back..very thick, very dark (she was
cinnamon colour but more sable now) This started about 2 weeks ago. I
have never heard of a ferret with adrenal who was NOT on Lupron to grow
their fur back. She was not considered a good risk for surgery 2 years
ago and has not been on any lupron shots or other meds. So what is going
on??? Is it possible that somehow the carbon monoxide was causing the
hair loss?? Up until 2 weeks ago, she was almost completely bald. Her
vulva has also shrunk back in these 2 weeks to almost normal size! She
seems alot more alert and playful since we moved here as does her sister
Hopkin.

Any info would be greatly appreciated as I am at a loss to explain this
and was quite shocked when I noticed the fur growing back in. Every day,
there is more of it and as I said, it is very thick and very soft
fur...just a different colour.

Thanks!
