Hi all you ferret lovers!
 
Yes, there is a well established ferret room on the IRC.  (But any and all
are always welcome.)
 
It starts around 7 pm, Pacific Time, and goes to whenever.  Many times, folk
don't show up until after 9 PAcific time.  Generally, there is someone found
7 days a week on-line.
 
The hard part: The chat servers are a bit 'fussy' so you need to have a bit
of patience when logging on.  The two servers are: irc.prospero.com and
irc.quarterdeck.com.  Make sure you use port 6667
 
I have just recently been able to get on with mIRC 32 (Many of mIRC's
standard / functions don't work when you are on the 2 servers), but for
reliable connects, use Qdeck's Global Chat.  To get a free copy of Global
Chat, go to: www.qdeck.com and download it.  It will only take a minute to
install.
 
BTW, the room we are in is called #FERRET in mIRC and FERRET in Global Chat.
 
Something that is kind of fun to talk about is the FERRET CAM found at:
http://pbob.speeder.com/ferret/ Most times the ferrets are not seen,
but..you could be lucky and see one of the darlin's.  I know I caught a
human leg last week!
 
And...to make it public...**I** am for the FML badges.  As I have said in a
private msg to another FML'er, I would like to see some nice metal pins with
enameled surfaces.  The cheap or inexpensive plastics don't cut it in my
book.  Also, I suggest that the pins be dated yearly, so that the purchase
of pins would be an on-going happening.  Why?  Well, the idea of the pins is
another way to raise money for the shelters...with people such as myself
buying each year, it would be insured that a continual flow of money for the
shelter/rescue operations would occur.
 
This **is** something that needs be discussed, not just "I like it, etc."
but ideas offered, publically (sp) so ALL the ideas can be discussed.
Private messages are fine, but...*WE** are the FML and we all need to be
able to input ideas.  (I am now stepping off the soapbox) Back to you BIG!!
