Well, this situation just gets curiouser and curiouser. Ruby was scheduled
to go in for exploratory surgery this morning. I was worried sick all
night. When I arrived at the vet clinic to sign "The Disclaimer," the vet
said, "Come in the back for a minute." Well, there was Ruby, peeking her
little pink nose out of her flannels, looking as chipper as could be! She
gave me a weasel kiss, and ate a little bit of Sciene DIet mush off my
finger!

Dr. Schneider explained that she'd taken an x-ray this morning, and the
spleen had greatly reduced in size - nearly normal, and the suspicious
tumor-looking shadow was fading! The vet said, "I can't explain it, but I
sure don't think we should put her through the stress of surgery at this
point."

So the vet is still keeping her in the hospital, watching her with a
cautiously optimistic eye. While the vet can't explain this
turn-for-the-better, I can: all those warm, healing, wonderful thoughts from
all of you on the FML! Thank you, thank you, thank you! But please, don't
forget us - she's not out of the woods (or the hospital) yet!
