Hello all! I've been lurking on the list for a couple of weeks now, and
thought I'd introduce myself. Just today I got my very first pair of
ferrets!! They are 8 week old MF ferrets, the boy is a light sable and the
girl a darker sable. I am already totally in love! I had a blast watching
them explore their new cage. They immediately went for the food dish, and
couldn't seem to decide which they enjoyed more, eating the kitten food or
flinging it around the cage. It took them a little while to get the hang of
the hammock. First they tried chewing on it, then lying under it on their
backs and batting at it with their little paws, until they finally figured
out that they were supposed to get on top of it before they ate it! The
cage has two levels, and they made it up the ramp just fine, but coming back
down was quite an ordeal... seems their hind legs and front legs were
fighting out who got to go down first, which resulted in small rolling balls
of fur. :) Finally, after a thorough exploration of their new home, they
curled up and went to sleep... not on all the fancy-schmancy pet store
hammocks or sleep sacks or bedding, but of course on the old t-shirt I'd
laid out in the cage. Hee hee. I haven't decided on names yet, but I'm
sure I will soon.

Thanks all, it's been great reading all your stories, and I look forward to
more, plus now finally sharing my own! I'm also interested in get-togethers
with other Denver-Boulder area ferret owners.

Warm fuzzies to all!

Wendy
