As I was reading for class I came upon a ferret refernce so I thought I'd
share.
 
From William Wycherley's "The Country Wife" 1675
 
Horner, the male protagonist, says of his friend's wife who has just locked
herself in his room.  "Stay here a little, I'll ferret her out to you
presently, I warrant."
 
The reason I got such a huge kick out of this line is becuase the lady he is
ferreting out happens to be named "Lady Fidget"
