I think the suggestion to host a raffle for the next symposium location
is wonderful!  However, I would up the entry fee to $5 per entry and I
would have 3-5 locations (or whatever is reasonable) chosen before the
raffle.  All logistics having been considered by the committee, 3-5
cities pre-selected and the winner of the raffle choosing the final
location.  This elimates BIG's concerns (Coco Islands/Alaska), the
committee continues to chose areas that have not been serviced and/or
are the most cost effective and $ is raised for SOS.
 
Yeah great idea Barbara!  I'm in!  {{waving $5 bill}}
