As most of you know my now long gone Byte-me is still deeply embedded
in my heart. How can an old man get so attached to a weasel? Ha! But I
am. The weasel died but her memory lives on vividly in the cinema
screen of my mind's eye.

Byte-me and Nibble-ed got the idea of getting under the bed spread on
my water bed to sleep. I could always find this warm lump of fur balls
waiting for me when I went to bed. I became very accustomed to this.
Then the water bed sprang a leak, as they do, and was for the last
time this was to happen, the water bed went to the trash. But the two
ferrets and others as they came into my life would all climb up to the
bed to sleep under the bed spread as they always did heater or not.

I was able to 'tell' Byte-me which side of the bed she could sleep in,
and she from that point on always went to that one side and spot to
curl up for the night. For sure that became a most welcome event to
either find her there or to have her come join me in a sleep fest.

Over time Byte-me grew old and passed on so there were no more warm
lumps to greet me or to share the night with.

Just today Pester Doodle found that spot and is now as I type curled up
under the bed spread warming a lump for me. Ha! This sure does bring
back tons of most welcome memories for her to be there like Byte-me
used to. Not sure she will stay there for the night, but if so would
be the frosting on the cake !
