Two simple questions:

1.) How much water is consumed per unit time by an individual ferret
whose only source of water is from a typical 28 ounce/100 ml water
bottle?

The assumption here is that few if any provide an open watering dish
within the ferret's cage. For those who do, the means of measuring
water consumption may be grossly unreliable, if and when ferrets most
often splash bowl water about.

2.) Need to know the transit time through the ferret GI tract (mouth
to anus) of food typically fed to caged ferret.

Latest estimate is 2 to 3 hours, as per literature.

Can anybody with two different colored ferret foods provide this
information by feeding 1/2 normal food amount of one colored food and,
say 15 or 30 minutes later, feeding the second different colored food
and placing the ferret under observation of feces expulsion over 2 to 3
hour period to record time when different colored feces are deposited?
Water should be freely available.
