I have just returned from the vet with my 1 1/2 yr old male ferret. He
has lost a little hair at the tip of his tail not anywhere else, when
he "poofs" his tail I can tell that it is really dry at the tip but it
doesn't seem to bother him, he seems fine otherwise, playful, eating
poops are fine. The vet said he did not have a temp and gave me
predisone to give to him for 30 days...she said if it did not help and/or
he got worse she can test him for adrenal. The test is 120.00...she said
she would charge me only her cost. She also said that if he started
exhibiting more hair loss along his sides/back that it was probably
adrenal & she could do exploratory surgery for a little over the cost
of the test....are there other signs I should be looking for?
