Far from the light
where you can't see them right
and the shadows which slither warn, "Wary!"
slink the greatest of blights
to fill all your nights:
a business of kits making merry.
Down come the books
before you can look
upon jaws stashing treats between pages,
like a flock of fine rooks
dash the shadows of crooks
disguised as Nutrical-phages.
You flick on the lights and
with all your might
you follow the pattern of hisses
from them seeing THEIR blight:
you with your light --
till they conquer again -- with their kisses!
