Last week in the middle of a move, I recieved a plea for help from a lady
near Little Rock who had taken in a sick ferret. Her other babies came down
sick almost immediately. When she wrote me she had seen two vets already.
(I don't yet have permission to print her name) This week she has lost one,
and was waiting for another to pass. His breathing was labored the last
letter she sent me. Hopefully the others will pull through. As of now - Dr
Paladino is the only vet in AR who has hands-on experience with ECE, but he
is not very sympathetic towards suffering. (He could not be bothered to
come in early help the little guy over the Rainbow Bridge)

All of those people who came forward so quickly to offer help and words of
kindness, Margie, Vikki, Mags, Rose, Troy Lynn, Jackie, Gary, Beth, Razz,
Bob and so many others (I cant remember all the names, let alone list them)
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. There is not a better group of
people than the ferret comunity, IMHO.

Just a thought; If you have a good vet, inform him the basics and the latest
developments in ferret health, We have, between us, a large data-base of
information - more than most vets have on ferrets. I bought a large 3-ring
binder and filled it with information (adding to it all the time) to give to
my dog-vet. Given time, I think he'll be a good fert-vet. When Catastrophe
hits - he will be ready and have the information he needs.

Thanks again.
Loni
