As many people are loosing both their jobs & homes, I'm seeing more
intakes & less adoptions, as is what every shelter is going thru. In
3 weeks, I've taken in 7.

Now like the other shelter ops, I work a job & the shelter. I've had
ads in the papers for years. I do get calls from ppl wanting to
volunteer. They also have very small kids & I won't let the kids be
a part of it. I simply don't have the time to be a baby sitter. Nor
will I put ferrets at risk.

More shelters are closing due to no help & the economy. I'm trying hard
to stay opened. As far as I know, I'm the only shelter in this state. I
know a few are listed but are not a working shelter.

I do need some people to help me with like fund raisers or sponsers for
the elderly ones.
