Well, this may sound flippant, but I don't mean it to.  In regards to
getting a third ferret when the first two you have are not together or
used to each other, don't get the third ferret.
 
Why would you want three ferrets that need to be housed separately?  Get
the first two together and used to each other, even if it is only living
wise.  We recently got our newest ferret in with two others after five
months.  They don't play with him, but tolerate him sleeping in the same
cage.  I think he will eventually wear them down.  That's the best thing
you can do.  Getting a third and having three different houses, three
different playtimes doesn't need to happen.  Take care of the ones you have
first.  It will be much easier that way.
