I apologize for being behind schedule with these. Life, an ice storm, and
some dental woes got in the way.

The FHL now has over 300 members and several vets from multiple countries.

Other topics which have been aired recently include Rimadyl, diets,
Pemphigus, vaccinations and so much more.

Bruce Williams and other veterinary experts can be asked questions by
joining the ferret health list at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ferret-Health-list .

It is hoped that the list of experts will be joined by veterinary
nutritionists, pharmacists, behaviorists, geneticists, and other experts.

After joining you will receive a letter which will permit you to select
the digest option. Choosing that option will permit you to have one to
four mails a day rather than 60 or more.

You may alternatively read the files without joining, and study the photos,
but can not ask questions without joining.

Because we are now trying to use a summary of the more interesting posts
for FOB Ferrets rather than sending the posts themselves, please, forgive
the truncated format of the following:

There were discussions by Bruce Williams about the signs of lead poisoning
in Issue 11, a useful medication for some with cardiomyopathy in Issue
12, a potential but little known life-saving choice when there is
adrenocortical carcinoma of the right side in Issue 15, and an approach
for skin lymphoma in Issue 16. Also in Issue 16 can be found information
on ruptured tendons, as well as bladder blockage and adrenal complications.
In Issue 17 when to avoid a fasting blood glucose test is an important
subject. Ever wonder about any possible relationship between ECE of
ferrets and ECG of mink? You will find that topic in Issue 18.

These posts above will appear cross-posted here to the FML, but questions
to about them to Dr. Williams must be sent to the FHL after joining.

A number of other topics have come up including -- but certainly not
limited to -- diet, ear infections, muscular malignancies, Rimadyl,
Pemphigus, and vaccinations.
