I rescued a ferret
 
Well I had heard that a young man (15) had a young female that he could no
longer take care of.  I already have 2 males and decided to drive to where
he lived and take a look at her.  She definitely had not received the best
of care and was only 8 months old.  I immediately felt so bad for her that
I rushed her home to try and give her a good environment to live in.
 
After bathing her, which had never been done, I decided to clip her nails
as well.  When I got to her rear paw I saw, in horror, that she had the
longest, thickest 2 toe nails that I had ever seen on a ferret.  I
immediately contacted "THE MOST WONDERFUL FERRET VET in San Francisco,
Jeffrey Bryan, and scheduled her for an exam and shots.  He commented on
her strange gait and other than her near obesity didn't think that I had to
much to worry about.  After further examination it APPEARS that she either
has a deformed paw or was injured previously and it wasn't treated.  She
doesn't appear to be in any pain but the paw does not allow her to jump or
climb like her "brothers" so she feels a little left out.
 
Does anyone have any suggestions, other than ferret tubes, to help her
equalize her physical infirmity?
