Ed posted that he mixes these two foods together.  Well the kids ( ferrets)
might be eating it and a lot of it-- because they feel hungry ( empty
stomach syndrome).  There is not enough protein, fat and minerals in the
mixture to keep your ferret healthy over the long haul.  Look at it this way
your toddler like spaghetti O's.  So you indulge for a week, a month and
then they won't eat anything else.  You try to feed them nourishing food
they don't like it.  It's not a prefect simile but it's close.  The vital
organs need nourishment, the immune system needs to be "charged" The Meow
Mix is full of food coloring and preservatives which can be harmful to the
ferrets system over time.
 
My suggestion is to wean the ferrets off this mixture-- remember the animals
do not see the colors-- the manufacturers put the colors in to make it
attractive to the buyers--- think about what all that "JUNK" is doing to the
inside of the ferrets you love!!!
