Debbie is concerned about what looks like bruises on the inside thighs of
her ferret.

My daughter calls these "skid marks". It's fairly common in plump ferrets
who wear away the fur in those spots through normal play. The new fur
growing in often has a bluish look at first, and it looks like the skin is
bruised.

Not to worry! It will go away as you ferret loses his baby fat and the fur
can grow back in. It may reappear in winter as he plumps up again.
