Vet quest. Adrenal: Surgery or Not

Hi
 
A friend of mine has a ferret with typical symptoms of adrenal cancer, he's
8 years old so as you can imagine they hesitate to put him through surgery.
 
If not surgery are there any drugs that could be used ?  Also to be sure
it's adrenal cancer does anyone have results from bloodtest to compare ?
