This is something I've never had the misfortune to actually see first hand.
An animal that suffers anemia due to fleas is one that is so infested with
them you could probably see the fleas from across the room.  Each time a
flea bites it takes a little blood.  Lots of fleas equals big loss of
blood.  Flea dirt as it's often called is actually bits of digested blood.
This is one of the many reason why you want to get rid of and/or prevent
fleas.  One of the other reasons is tape worms if you animal swallows an
infected flea they can then infect themselves with tapeworms.  So this year
get some advantage on your pets, spray around your house as flea season
comes to your area, a little work now can prevent a lot of discomfort and
aggravation later for both you and your pet.
