Just about 2 weeks ago I was taking Bela and Fezzik for a walk in the
pasture behind our house. There is a pair of horses back there and the
neighbors have some sheep with some cute baby lambs. I wanted to see if I
could get some cute pictures of the "chickens" with the horses and lambs.
Bela tried to nip the horses' noses and I'm afraid that she wrecked my hopes
for a peaceful photo opportunity. The 2 mares, startled by Bela's bravado,
pronked off w/ their tails high in the air. When we went to see the sheep,
the "chickens" scared them off too, though I did get about 2 pix.

Anyway, to get to the point, on our way back Bela disturbed about a 6x12"
piece of plywood and 2 mice scurried out. Before I could even react, Bela
had effeciently dispatched one mouse. It looked like the whole attack was
centered on a lightning fast bite to the base of the skull. I did not see
her roll as she bit, but it's possible that I missed in that while I was
looking back to make sure that Fezzik, (who had no interest in the mice)
wasn't underfoot. One thing is for sure, Bela has the hunting instinct,
Fezzik is just a big wimp. Bela didn't even have any interest in eating the
mouse after it was dead. (thank goodness) I was shocked to see it happen so
quickly, but other than 1 dead mouse I doubt there was any other harm done.

Anyway, that's just my .002. I'd be interested to hear anyone elses stories.
