On November 21st, ferret lovers are invited to "Fall in Love at the
Cascade Ferret Network" by attending its 2004 Ferret Appreciation Day and
Open House.  The event is intended to expand appreciation of ferrets as
pets, inform the public about the CFN and its operations, and to raise
funds for the CFN.  The event will happen at CFN's central facility at
3025 NE Hoyt, Portland, OR from 12:00-4:00pm.  Check out CFN's web page
for details, www.cascadeferret.org.  The following activities will be a
part of this event:
 
"Filching Ferret" Gift Exchange (3:00pm): This special type of gift
exchange is fun for those that participate as well as those that are
just observing.  To participate, bring a ferret related gift worth about
$10.  Be creative!  The more creative you are the more fun the event will
be (no used ferret items please).
 
Holiday photo session for your ferret: Lots of props for a great holiday
picture, we provide the digital camera, you give a small donation.
 
Meet shelter ferrets: volunteers will be on hand to introduce you to
shelter ferrets you've seen on our web page
 
Expert ferret vets for health screening (12-4pm) for a small donation
 
"When your Critter is Critical" educational lecture (2:00-2:30pm)
 
Silent auction of one-of-a-kind ferret related items
 
Customize ornaments, crafts and gifts for your ferret: for a small
donation, volunteers will help you create a special holiday item for
your ferret or with your ferret's name or photo on it (bring a photo
of your ferret to make into a button, magnet, or key chain, contact
CFN for details)
 
Raffle of donated ferret related items
 
New and used ferret merchandise for sale: go home with a 2005 ferret
calendar or other gifts for your ferret or a ferret owner.  Great prices
on used supplies and equipment.
