>Subject: My "attack"
>First of all, the note about your post on the Newsgroup was from ALL
>THREE of us at SOS .. not just me.

I'm positive that is not copletely correct. Neither Judith or Georgia
has written to correct me. Only you. I have conversed with both of them
recently. Neither contradicted my statement about Alicia nor my statement
that your note was yours alone. Lets not increase the friction within the
FML or the SOS group by forcing the issue. This is already far more
unpleasant than it deserves to be.

>It was not an "attack"; it was a clarification that you were passing
>on INACURATE information.

There was no "clarification" here, it was an outright contradiction. A
clarification would have been to suggest a better word perhaps for what it
is that Alicia did. Alicia heard a rumor from someone associated with the
FRT organization. Alicia contacted Judith who really has no involvement
with either the FRT or Lisa except through the SOS. If Alicia had
contacted Lisa directly there would be no story. The only reason to
contact Judith would be to affect Lisa's association with the SOS. I would
accept a more "clarification" that better described Alicia's actions and
reasons. But the contact occured.

It feels like an attack to have information that I have verified from
independant sources called "untrue". Especially in a forum where it should
NOT have been brought up. BIG choose to allow it while another forum you
apparently would have attempted apparently did not allow it as it was
considered an "attack".

The only appropriate forum to dispute my statement would have been the same
newsgroup that the statement was made.

>All three of us read the post before I sent it,

Again I'm postive that you are mistaken.

>Even if it had been accurate, it had no place on a public forum like
>alt.pets.ferrets ... but that's a whole different story.

I apologized immediately on the newsgroup for accidentally sending a post
intended to be private to a public forum. Again, I apologize to anyone
here that is also a reader of the alt.pets.ferrets newsgroup for posting a
private message accidentally. Though this apology is really in the wrong
forum.

>Alicia did NOT ask that Lisa be removed from the list.

That isn't what I said. Alicia's efforts weren't so straight forward as a
formal request that Lisa be dropped from the list.

>*no shelter* has ever been denied "membership" on the list or kicked off
>the list

That is a correct statement but I implied that. I did not say that "Alicia
got Lisa kicked off". I also did not state that Alicia did a specific
formal request. I stand by what I said.

>and *nobody* has ever suggested that any shelter be removed from the list.

I can not explain why Judith and Georgia must be withholding information
from you if you are unaware of this and other statements concerning the
sagacity of including certain shelters. But perhaps if we change "removed
from" to "assisted by" you might remember more incidents.

>Fourth, I just wanted to note that I find this whole thing really ironic
>after your note about how "a small group of nasty individuals" makes the
>FML a nasty place. I've always considered spreading untrue rumours to be
>a "nasty" habit.

I didn't post a note to the FML about this issue. You did. You brought
this unpleasantness here. I did not intend that this truly minor event
get brought up here especially with suggestions that one or the other of
us was telling untruths.

You are taking a phrase out of a mis-directed email and making much too
much of it. If you had not made such a big deal of it the entire statement
would have been forgotten by now. You are bringing much more attention to
this old news than it deserves. One phrase out of a note on the newsgroup
that was probably ignored by most of its readership is now getting many
paragraphs of notice. Your efforts have made it less likely to be
forgotten soon. Too bad.. Neither the events of back then nor my
statement deserve so much press.

What I said is not untrue. You really do need to stop inferring that I am
a liar. Immediately. This is a formal demand.
