Zepheris Arloc mentioned the Magic: The Gathering (R) card called "Joven's
Ferrets" and speculated as to its origin. Yes, one of the two designers of
that particular cardset did indeed own a ferret named Loki. There have been
a few other ferret-slaves here at Wizards of the Coast in the past, but I
think I'm the only one at the moment. Doing my part for the cause, though,
decorating my cube with ferretware. I have the "Joven's Ferrets" card in my
cube--in Spanish, where it appears as "Hurones de Yoven." Maybe I should
track down the card in other international editions and see what word was
used for "ferret" in other languages!
