Ferretwan Kenobi:  These aren't the ferrets we're looking for.
Caca Fish Trooper:  These aren't the ferrets we're looking for.

Also, Sukie Crandall suggested that ferrets of fur fitch stock might be more
likely to bite.  Is there a way to tell if a ferret is fur fitch?  Has
anyone ever seen a verified fur fitch?  Are there still fitch farms in
existence in the US?  It's pretty easy to say, "My ferret bites.  He must be
fitch."
 
On biters: a few ferrets may never be suitable pets for families with
children or the kind of animal you'd want to let strangers handle.  That
doesn't mean you can't enjoy them, just know their limits.  :) I am very
saddened by the statistics Mary Schatz provided on ferret rabies testing in
Michigan.  In case anyone is unclear on the policy here, rabies vaccinations
mean nothing.  If your ferret bites, the victim can insist that it be sent
for testing.  That's the policy.  If you live in Michigan or bring a ferret
here, please do not allow anyone to handle them unless you are sure a bite
cannot occur.  The only good your rabies vaccine does is 1) protects the
ferret from rabies or 2) may convince some people not to report the bite.
If it gets to Public Health, though, it's all over.  I actually got bit
badly by a kit at a pet store, and the store thought I was full of crap when
I told them this.
