What types of animals are allowed?

"Pets allowed in the passenger cabin are dogs, cats, rabbits, household
birds and tropical fish. The pet must stay in its container at all times
while onboard, and be stowed under the seat during takeoff and landing.
Animals with offensive odors or those that create a noise disturbance must
travel in the baggage compartment."

This was on their website. I found this humorous since birds are extremely
noisy animals. Dogs and cats also make noise and are unpredictable. "We
had better land now captain, that animal needs to be transferred to the
cargo area." Not to mention the screaming kids and snoring passengers.
The only noise my ferret would make on a plane is the water bottle. As
far as "offensive odors", I have been seated next to some human beings that
smell far worse than any ferret. Too bad they don't put restrictions on
that!

I have not called Alaska to see if they classify ferrets within the
"unacceptable" pet category. Has anyone else experienced a "no" from
them? Has anyone been able to talk their way into this?

Just curious - might take ferrets with me on my next trip.
