A friend of mine at work received an email from what he thought was ebay,
asking to confirm his secret code. This appeared VERY real, since the
site even appeared when he clicked the link, which he now knows, was
someone's "copy" of the site. So he confirmed his code and went about
his business as usual. 3 days later he receives emails from several
sellers, wondering how he will be paying for the items he bought.....a
CAR, a MOTERCYCLE, etc! The total of all that was purchased totaled
over $80,000! He CAN "fix" this through ebay, but it will be tons of
headaches to get it all done! Of course, he is just going to have to
have the headaches though. Just thought I'd give all a "head's-up" so
you all will be very cautious when responding to mail such as this!
