Subject:	How to remove pitch/sap?

Our little boy, Raphael, found that the quickest route between two points
was over a stump that was oozing pitch or sap.  He slimed his whole
underside.  Does anybody have any miracle solvents that are SAFE and
EFFECTIVE at removing this sticky goo?  I don't want to cut it out of his
fur, which is sticking out all over in little points.
