Steve and I just got cable for the first times in our lives this week.
Tonight on MSG Metro Learning Center's "Metro Pets" we saw a lecture on
claw clipping. The speaker was enveloped in a swarm of pets continually
weaving around him: birds, dogs, cats, chincillas, and a big male blaze
ferret. In fact, the ferret and a pug were the best behaved of those being
clipped. When clipping the male he used a trick which I first read about
MANY years ago here on the FML from the person who happened upon it (Wish I
could remember who it was...): the trick of placing a treat on the belly
and letting it be licked off. He casual held the lunker and showed that he
did not even need to hold the ferret still since the treat was more than
enough to get good behavior.
