Anchorage reporting here:

We have a new playground. Mom put up a fence along the front of the
house and then zip tied some slippery stuff at the top so we can't
get to the rest of the world. Yet. But we can watch it. Anyway, our
playground is full of nice soft dirt and when Hunter starting digging
dirt went all over the place - including Fox's face when he came over
to watch. Mom didn't even say anything about making a mess like she
does in the plant room - she just laughed. So we all dug holes. And we
dug and dug and dug. This is fun. Then mom turned the green turtle lid
over and put water in it with big flat rocks. The orange ping pong ball
got all wet and so did Otter when she finally tricked it out of that
lid. Now our ball is safe in one of Freddie's trenches. He doesn't dig
deep holes but he goes in ours. After a while we got tired with all the
sun and digging and running. Freddie got tired first and went to mom
but she didn't pick him up. He stood there for a while till his legs
got all trembly. We liked digging in the dirt but we can't sleep in the
dirt! How yucky is that? So mom went and brought our hammy out and we
all piled in for a nice cozy nap. Really, what was mom thinking? We
can't wait for Renee to bring Skitch, Duncan, Izzy, and Oreo over!

Otter: I taught mom not to put the big green chair on our nice dirt. It
makes a good jumping pad over those slippery things.

Freddie: I hope mom isn't going to put rocks over our dirt like she did
in the plant room.

Fox: I didn't know it could rain dirt.

Hunter: You can't have too many holes.
