Today I spoke with a vets' Office Manager regarding available "payment
schedules" for ferret clients for those with future/on-going large medical
bills.

Although "payment is due at the time services are rendered" many vets will
agree upon a payment schedule should the fert need extensive (long term)
medical treatment; e.g. Accident (bone setting/sutures), Chemotherapy,
Multiple X-Rays or Ultrasound for on-going diagnosis and treatment, etc.

It's up to you to approach the vet or Office Manager about making payments
for services, instead of one large lump sum. Just ask! If you have a
multi-family pet household, plan ahead.

Some vets' offices are providing information on interest bearing credit card
services - one company is called Care Credit.
