Speaking of the CA F&G getting out of hand...

This is based on a message posted on rec.pets.herps back in July

Brendon McGraw, probably the worlds foremost authority on Rosy Boas passed
away in July. His exploits with Rosy Boas are legend in the california and
arizona desert. He commited suicide and the CA Fish and Game Dept is what
drove him over the edge. Brendon was arrested by CA F&G for selling Rosy
Boas 1 inch beyond the length limit. Although he was completely exonerated
in the court system, it did not prevent CA F & G from confiscating his
entire collection, allowing it to die, and ruining him financially. He had
since been involved in a lawsuit against CA F&G, but apparently became
despondent and took his own life.

This is not the first time I have heard of the CA F&G mismanaging animals
they have confiscated which has caused the death or endangerment/cruelty to
said animals. How dare they tell people they can't keep certain species
when they themselves are not qualified to keep animals. And the CA F&G has
the balls to dare claim they give a damm about the welfare of animals, even
using web pages at their site claiming that PETA advises them on managment
of feral cats, when all they are good for is killing animals and selling
hunting/fishing permits. PETA's record isn't much better though, so maybe
the two deserve each other...
