Hello,
Having just lost Pearl, this week started with a huge bang.  My Dan is a
ferret that we drove to Las Vegas to adopt from CJ.  (she called him Bid
D) He is just the sweetest guy, very laid back and quite the snuggler.
He was fine when we let everyone out, he even went outside with me to get
the paper and look at some of the pansies that we just planted.  He ate
his morning soup and went to lay down in his bed in the living room.  When
we went to put them all up to make a run to the garden center, he was limp
and drooling.  I panicked, big time.  We threw on clothes and made a mad
dash for the vet.  I thought we lost him several times on the trip, I
couldn't tell if he was breathing or not.  When we got there, he seemed
to perk up a bit, but not much.  His blood sugar was 22, which we were
told was VERY low.  They sent blood to be tested, and got him on an IV.
He perked up quit a bit after some glucose.  It seems that he has
insolnomia.  I have dealt with lots of tumors, adrenal, ECE and a few
other things.  I have never had an inslonomic ferret.  I know that I have
read about lots of others that do.  If those of you that have knowledge
that they would like to share, please contact me off list, so that we
don't clog this with things that others may not wish to re read about.
I have been chastised in the past for asking about things that were
archived.  I can read the archived things, but I would also like to be in
contact with others that have gone through this and know much more than
I do.
