>Here is a story that I found about an innovative ferret owner in the UK

I've been to that page and think it's disgusting. It's about working
ferrets that are getting fat because they don't get exercise because of the
foot and mouth, in other words they can't go working so that means that
the only exercise that the ferrets get is working. And I can't see those
people working their ferrets every day so the poor ferrets will be stuck
in a cage day in day out. Well, how about letting them have a run in the
house or at least one room of the house? What sort of life do those
ferrets have if they are stuck in cages and that means they'll have been
caged non-stop for a few months now!

And wow, that person now had a brilliant idea- an exercise pen! A whole
6ft by 6ft! I've got a 3ft cage, if it was 6ft it would still be a cage
for me. Not an exercise course. Still better than no exercise at all but
why that bloke doesn't take the ferrets indoors I don't know, I wouldn't
brag about this exercise cage and tell the whole world that I've been
keeping my poor ferrets in a cage for months and then write about the pen
like it's the most clever thing anybody has ever come up with...
