Jennifer, have you checked with other vets as to prices?  Here, $1500
would be way too much for the exploratory surgery needed to remove that
blockage.  Our vets here would charge $250 to $500.  Check with some
other vets and see if you can't find one who will do it cheaper.  By all
means, do it quickly because that blockage will be fatal in a very short
time.
