Pat mantioned the death of a child in Oregon by ferret bites. Actually, this
is not true, if it is the situation i am aware of. Unfortunately, the initial
cause of death of the child WAS via ferret bite, but it was later proved that
the child had died from neglect and the parents, barely out of their teenage
years and strung out on drugs, had used the ferret forcefully to bite the child
after it had died to "cover up" their mistake. The parents even asked the
officers who responded to their call if they could keep the ferret, because it
was such a good pet.

If you ask me, people should be required to pass a test to become a pet owner
or a parent.
