Okay, just so everyone knows, I am not putting my ferret's safety on the
line to ask for advice from the FMLers. Linus seems okay and has not shown
any signs of something being wrong, so until then, I'll assume he's okay.
It's not that I don't care, I just don't want to run out to the emergency
vet if I don't have to. Let me explain what happened...

I don't know why, but for some reason I am always getting myself into
strange predicaments and this time one of my fuzzbutts got involved. Linus
and Ophelia were out while I was gettng ready for work this morning, and
Linus tends to follow me around when he knows I'm going to be leaving soon.
He knows my uniform (I'm a server at an Italian restaurant) and he knows
that it means Mommy goes bye-bye when she wears it. I always put in extra
cuddle time with him when he does this, I guess he has me well trained.

Anyway, I was walking into my bathroom (with the fat little boy close
behind) when I turned around to close the door and my elbow knocked a
bottle of nailpolish onto the tile floor. Before I could grab it, it
smashed onto the floor and pink/glitter flew everywhere. Linus was too far
behind to be hit by the flying glass (thank goodness), but before I could
grab him, he walked right into the bathroom and got nailpolish on his
belly. After checking for any injuries, I grabbed him and Ophelia (who was
in another room) put her in the cage, and then ran Linus to the kitchen
sink. He didn't seem to notice the sparkly pink spot on his tummy, but he
did notice me trying to rub it off with a wet washcloth, which wasn't fun
for either of us. Now he is snoozing in his hammmok, but I'm stuck with a
delima. Providing he does not get sick (in which case I will rush him to
the vet), what do I do about the fur? The nailpolish is still there.
Will he try to remove it himself and subsequently ingest it? That would
definately be a problem. Will the polish harm his skin? Do I try again
with the soap and water? Or do I just wait for his fur to grow out and do
my best to keep Ophelia from teasing him? I will be keeping a watchful eye
on him and will post an update no matter what happens. Please don't flame
me for not going to the emergency vet. I love my babies, but I didn't see
the need.
