My friend, Terry Fike, has just taken in a pair of young ( about 1 yr)
neutered male ferrets.  They are one each sable and chocolate, and came from
a home where there were both kids and cats.  He may also have some old cages
available cheaply - you'll no doubt have to get out the naval jelly, wire
brush, and rustoleum spray!
 
Terry works long days, so call him after 7 pm at (410) 751-1526.  He's
located in Taneytown MD, about 45 minutes west of Baltimore.
