I'm crying my eyes out as I'm writing this. Floyd went on to the
rainbowbrigde to be with all the other ferts. I know she is in a better
place now, but it hurts so bad.

Please, everybody make sure that you always keep an eye on your ferts, when
they are out of their cages. Floyd was alone in her playroom, managed to
push up the window, chewed through the screen and went for a stroll. 2
hours later she came back and seemed to be fine. She ate, she drank,
cuddled, slept - her normal self.

4 days after that she threw up, but was okay a little while later. The
next morning she seemed a little tired, but we didn't think much of it.
Then things turned really bad, really fast. Being Memorial weekend we had
the hardest time finding a vet that treats ferrets. We finally did, they
gave her fluids, took x-rays but couldn't find much.

This morning our vet looked at her and decided to open up her stomach. She
was full of some nicotine based plant material, which she probably got when
she ran away.

There are no cigs or plants like that in our house.

Poor Floyd made it through the surgery, but never woke up from the
anesthesia.

Girlie Girl I'm so sorry I hope the other guys take good care of you.

Barb
