Just saw a kids' picture book, "Mac Side Up," by Elsdale, published by
Dutton ($15.99) that has a FERRET in it!

Yes, an adorable sable named "Dusty" with nifty pink sunglasses and an
inquiring, scientific-type ferret sort of mind...interested in doing
research...why does bread fall butter side down, and do cats always land
on their feet? The cat in question is named "Mac" and the illustrations
are photos with overlays and underlays and fancy-jazzed-up tricks.

First one I've ever seen in 26 years as a children's librarian. "Check it
out!"

Kate and the Big Boys Monty and Madison ("Hey Mom, that Dusty is kinda
cute!")
