I'm not sure this will help or not. I've been dealing with this in a couple
shelter ferrets and one of my own. I've had them barrium x-rayed and the
doctor said their was way too much gas in the digestive track. Symptoms
were: weight loss, diminishing amount of poop, some ferrets were eating on
their own, one wasn't. I've been treating it now for a month and thought I
had it licked, only to notice a relapse. My doctor prescribed carafate
twice a day, amoxy twice a day and flagyl once a day. I would see an
improvement in amount of poops, appetite and weight gain.

Poop watching was critical. I lost one at the beginning because he was
with a mate and I thought the ferret was doing good. I had witnessed
eating/pooping, but obviously I must has been tricked.
