Reading your post just wanted to warn.... If you really have a climber he
can get over the 24 in.  My ZeppLynn could only do it in his "skinny"
season, winter fat created a prob.  As long as he could get his little
fingers in the edge he could pull himself over the gate.  Hence the nick
"hang time".  I now have a 3 foot gate, a little hard for my 5'2 frame to
step over, but it keeps him safe in his room.  Just thought I would let
you know.
 
Oh, and I too bought Plexiglas to bow in the door.  Out of 3 years, only
had one break cost about 3 dollars for my piece at a glass shout.  The
local home stores charge more.
