It was wonderful to read Cyndi Johnson's post about her ferret Blaze who
is doing well on a medication regime for DIM. Dr. Katrina Ramsell ia
the vet that was mentioned as the one that gave a recommendation for
treatment. Dr Ramsell attended the IFC event in Toronto and was the
recipient of an award for her dedicated work toward helping to solve the
mystery of DIM. Dr. Ramsell is an amazing woman who gives of herself
totally unselfishly and would do anything to help a ferret. She is also
always a thoroughly pleasant and cheerful person no matter how harried
she is from all she tries to accomplish.

In addition to her work with DIM, we are extremely lucky to have Dr.
Ramsell as the vet for the Cascade Ferret Network. She will be giving
a talk at CFN's upcoming Ferret Awareness Day on July 9th at the Oregon
Humane Society in Portland Oregon. Her talk is entitled, "What's Wrong
with this Ferret?" It will entail a presentation about several actual
cases she has seen at Southwest Animal Hospital and how the ferrets'
health problems were diagnosed, the treatment provided, and the outcome.
